About

Meet Sue...

If you landed on my home page, you already know I’m a freelance writer and senior health and lifestyle expert.  But here’s the back story!

After graduating from UW-Madison in Journalism, I started out in corporate communications — working at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Agrace HospiceCare, and the American Cancer Society.

So I know my way around a press release, brochure and newsletter.  I’ve also written articles, blogs, web copy and non-fiction books.

I love learning new things, so I’m willing to tackle any topic you throw at me.  I’ve written about business, real estate, parenting, pets, Wisconsin and even ghosts — but my specialties are seniors and health care.

After my parents passed away, I offered personal services for seniors and later spent two years in marketing at a senior independent living community.  Those experiences prompted me to write about topics ranging from baby boomers to retirement — healthcare and legal issues, grandparenting, the golden years, senior living, staying young and much more.

And if you know a senior who wants to tell their story, I can help them write a personal history.  I’ve even written obituaries in advance for those who know how they want to be remembered!

When I’m not writing, you may find me reading or spending time with family or friends.  I could be cheering for the Badgers or Cubs.  Or hanging out with our Golden Retriever, Wrigley.  And if it’s winter in Wisconsin, well, I’m probably planning a trip to sunny Arizona!

If you’re looking for a good writer — or you just want to talk about writing, seniors, dogs or the Badgers — I’d love to hear from you!
